A recent move, start to finish. A landscaper in Madera needed a mature olive set at a brand-new home in the Riverstone community, but his trailer could not haul the tree. So Patriot picked it up at the orchard out in Delano, brought it across, and set up at the house the same trip. One outfit, the whole move.

The lift is the skill. A field-dug olive runs about 6,000 pounds, and almost all of it sits in the root ball. Lift it wrong from the branches and you break them, and there is no fixing a broken branch on a tree like that. So it comes up slowly and evenly, the weight reading live in the cab the whole way, and it stays slow until it is standing where it belongs.

Placement is the owner's call. These trees are big, expensive, and the focal point of the whole yard, and the owner in Madera was rightly particular: the angle had to read right against the house. The crane holds the tree in the air while it is turned to the eye. Then it goes down once, correctly. The hole had water and power lines running parallel to it, so the dig and the pick were planned around both.

It is not just single trees. Up the hill outside Clovis toward Prather, Patriot set more than twenty big nursery cypress along a driveway, one after another, each one placed standing and straight. Can you pick the tree up from the orchard or nursery? Yes. The Delano olive is exactly that story: the landscaper's trailer could not haul it, so the crane did the pickup, the transport coordination, and the set as one move.

Will the lift damage the tree? Not lifted right. The weight lives in the root ball, so it comes up slowly and evenly with the load reading live in the cab. Slow is the method. Nobody rushes the crane.

What about water and power lines? Usually the real constraint, and plannable. Locate your utilities, tell Rafael what is in the ground and overhead, and the pick is built around them, the same way the Madera set was.
